Tessiers Mechanicla Contractors, the Midwest’s premier mechanical contractor, has an immediate opening for the full-time position of project estimator. The project estimator will be involved in many aspects of the company’s project take-off and estimating activities.  This position will report directly to the Preconstruction Leader.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review construction project specifications and related documents to understand project requirements and avoid or remove potential ambiguities
• Perform quality take-offs and project estimates based on construction project specifications and related documents for HVAC and plumbing systems
• Work closely with other members of the estimating and preconstruction team to support the cost estimation process

Education and Work Experience:

• Two years estimating experience is required with five plus years preferred
• A background in the HVAC, plumbing, and piping arena is preferred but not required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, addenda, change documents, and technical procedures related to the mechanical contracting trades is required
• Ability to take-off multiple trades and perform take-offs on incomplete designs
• Experience estimating medium to large construction projects is a plus
• Experience on healthcare, manufacturing, and industrial projects is also a plus
• Ability to handle the take-off and estimating tasks on multiple projects at one time with the ability to prioritize these activities
• Proficiency with industry specific take-off and estimating software such as TSI, Revit, and Bluebeam is a plus
• Strong computer proficiencies in the Microsoft suite of products
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Detailed oriented with strong organizational skills
• Prompt and responsive with a measure of urgency dealing with tasks at hand
• Must be able to work effectively alone or as part of a team
